Fields on the Assignments Panel

The table below lists and defines the fields in the Assignments panel.

Assignment Panel Fields

Field

Description

Organization   

Name of the organization in which the individual holds the assignment.

Reference

Contains a unique value that identifies the organization to the diocese. For example, if the diocese uses an internal numbering system to identify each organization, you can enter that number in this field. 

Position

Title of the position held by the individual. For example, nurse, coach, catechist.

Status

Status of the assignment as one of the following::

  1. Active: the assignment has not expired; the individual is currently serving in the assignment.
  2. Deceased: the individual is no longer living.
  3. In Processthe individual is currently in the process of becoming approved to serve in the assignment.
  4. Inactivethe individual is no longer serving in the assignment for reasons that don't fall within one of the other status types.
  5. Not Started: the individual has not yet begun to serve in the assignment.
  6. Resigned: the individual voluntarily left the assignment.
  7. Retired: the individual is no longer serving in the assignment because they voluntarily stopped working. 
  8. Suspended: the individual is temporarily removed from serving in the assignment and awaiting a decision from a superior regarding continuation of service.
  9. Terminated: the individual was dismissed from serving in the assignment; fired.

Title

Descriptive name of the assignment. For example, Elementary Teacher K-3, Girls Basketball Coach, Middle School Catechist. 

Start Date

Date the individual starts serving in the assignment.

If adding a new assignment, this field is automatically populated with today's date. You can edit this date directly or select a new date by clicking  and selecting a date from the calendar.

End Date

Date the individual stops serving in the assignment. 

This field is optional. If the assignment has no end date, leave the field blank.

If adding a new assignment, you can either type a date in the field or select a new date by clicking  and selecting a date from the calendar.

External ID

Unique identifier that identifies the assignment in an outside system (for example, in Family Suite). The field is important for maintaining referential integrity between the two systems (SEP and the external program).

This field is optional. Accepts alphanumeric values.

Access to this field is controlled by the Individuals > Modify permission. Only users assigned this permission are allowed to change a value in this field.

Source

Lets you identify the source of the value in the External ID field.

This field is optional. Accepts text values.
